Sally Field Spills: Her Worst On-Screen Kiss Was With Burt Reynolds
Hollywood legend Sally Field, 76, recently dropped a bombshell during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live: her worst on-screen kiss came courtesy of none other than her former flame, Burt Reynolds.
Field, who starred opposite Reynolds in Smokey and the Bandit, hesitated before naming names — but ultimately admitted that the on-screen smooch with Reynolds just didn’t do it for her. “It just was not something he really did for you,” she said, even recalling that there was quite a bit of “drooling” involved.
The two shared a five-year relationship after meeting in 1977, but their romantic history was far from a fairy tale. In a 2023 interview with Variety, Field opened up about their turbulent past, saying, “He was just not good for me in any way.” She also revealed they hadn’t spoken during the final 30 years of his life.
Despite the rocky romance, Sally Field has remained one of Hollywood’s most respected and beloved talents. With unforgettable performances in classics like Forrest Gump, Steel Magnolias, and Mrs. Doubtfire, she continues to shine — most recently in acclaimed projects like Dispatches from Elsewhere and Winning Time: The Rise of the Lakers Dynasty.
