“Meghan Markle Faces Backlash as New Podcast Branded ‘Insane’ in Brutal Reviews”

“Meghan Markle’s latest podcast is under fire, slammed by British media with harsh criticism.”

Meghan Markle’s new podcast series has sparked a wave of harsh criticism in the British media, with one outlet branding it “insane.” The Duchess of Sussex debuted the first episode of her series, Confessions of a Female Founder, released in partnership with Lemonada Media.

In the premiere episode, Meghan sits down with Bumble founder Whitney Wolfe Herd for an open and emotional conversation. The duchess shares deeply personal details, including her struggle with medical complications after childbirth. She revealed that she was diagnosed with postpartum pre-eclampsia—a condition she quietly endured while the world remained unaware.

Confessions of a Female Founder marks the latest addition to Meghan Markle’s growing list of projects, following her widely criticized Netflix lifestyle series With Love, Meghan and the launch of her new brand, American Riviera Orchard.

However, her latest venture into podcasting hasn’t escaped scrutiny. British media outlets have already taken aim at the series, with The Telegraph delivering a particularly scathing review—awarding it just two out of five stars and bluntly labeling it “insane.”

The Telegraph’s critic, Chris Bennion, didn’t hold back in his review, calling the podcast “an inane stream of mindless aphorisms.” He took aim at the show’s tone and content, criticizing it for being saturated with “journeys of self-love and validation, discussions of bottling your essence, and great handfuls of mutual adoration.”

Meanwhile, The Guardian‘s Rachel Aroesti echoed the criticism, also awarding the podcast just two out of five stars. She described the show as “stomach-turning” and admitted it felt like “a bit much,” adding to the growing chorus of media backlash.

Rachel Aroesti of The Guardian didn’t mince words in her critique, writing: “Sitting in a podcast studio talking to wealthy women who worship her is clearly far more Meghan’s scene than enduring the remorselessly vicious press and strange, alienating traditions of these shores.” Her verdict? Another two-star rating.

Meanwhile, The Times critic James Marriott was even more brutal, slapping the series with just one star out of five. He described the show as saturated with Meghan’s “self-love,” suggesting it felt less like a podcast and more like “a research exercise for her new app.” He added pointedly: “Meghan, after all, is a world expert in self-love.”

Earlier today, Meghan marked the launch of Confessions of a Female Founder with a lighthearted message on her new social media platform, writing: “Being an entrepreneur can start young. (By the way, all these years later and I’m still selling cookies!)”

While critics have been harsh, the podcast has also garnered support from fans online. One listener posted on X: “I thoroughly enjoyed the 1st episode of Meghan’s podcast.”

Another added: “I enjoyed it. Good to see women supporting and caring for other women.” A third fan kept it simple, sharing: “Loved it ❤️❤️❤️.”
