“Tehran has reportedly transferred the powerful weaponry to its proxy militias, escalating regional tensions.”

Iran Hands Long-Range Missiles to Iraqi Militias in Defiant Move Against Trump
Iran has reportedly transferred long-range missiles capable of striking Europe to proxy militias in Iraq—a bold provocation seen as a direct challenge to U.S. President Donald Trump.
According to The Times, the weaponry handover marks a significant escalation in Tehran’s military footprint across the Middle East. Intelligence sources suggest the transfer was orchestrated by the Iranian Revolutionary Guards Air Force, with the missiles now in the hands of Shia militias aligned with Iran.
This is the first time such advanced surface-to-surface missiles—capable of reaching targets across Europe—have been delivered to non-state actors inside Iraq. Alongside these, two additional types of missiles, the Quds 351 cruise missile and the Jamal 69 ballistic missile, were reportedly smuggled into the country last week. However, those systems have shorter ranges compared to the newly introduced long-range variants.
The move comes at a critical moment, as hopes had been building for a de-escalation ahead of potential U.S.-Iran talks on missile development and nuclear capabilities. Instead, Tehran appears to be tightening its grip in the region—defying Washington’s pressure and raising the stakes for any future negotiations.
President Trump has warned of “serious consequences” if Iran continues to arm its militias, but Tehran’s latest actions suggest it’s willing to test those threats head-on.

A regional intelligence source revealed:
“Iran has recently supplied advanced missiles to Shia militias in Iraq, including new long-range models that have never before been handed over to these groups. It’s a reckless and desperate move—one that could severely destabilize Iraq.”
Meanwhile, President Trump issued a stark warning this week, declaring that Israel would take the lead in a potential military strike against Iran if Tehran refuses to abandon its nuclear weapons ambitions.
President Trump made the remarks just days ahead of high-stakes talks between U.S. and Iranian officials, set to take place this weekend in Oman.

President Trump stated this week that the upcoming talks in Oman would be “direct,” while Iranian officials have pushed back, calling the engagement “indirect.”
In a bold warning, Trump added:
“If it requires military, we’re going to have military. Israel will obviously be very much involved in that. They’ll be the leader of that. But nobody leads us—we do what we want to do.”
