TOWIE Star Pete Wicks Secures Second Series of Hit Dog Show

Pete Wicks is set to return to our screens after reportedly landing a second series of his heartwarming TV show, For Dogs’ Sake.

The 37-year-old reality favourite, best known from The Only Way Is Essex, first fronted the four-part series for U&W earlier this year. Filmed at the Dogs Trust rehoming centre in Basildon, Essex, the show struck a chord with viewers for its emotional stories and Pete’s genuine passion for pups.

Following the success of the initial run, insiders reveal that TV bosses were impressed enough to green-light a brand-new series—with Pete once again leading the charge.

Now, a TV insider has sparked headlines by comparing reality star Pete Wicks to the late showbiz icon, calling him a “worthy successor” to Paul—praise that has only added to the buzz around Pete’s return to For Dogs’ Sake.

Meanwhile, This Morning host Alison Hammond—who took over Paul’s role on For The Love Of Dogs—has faced a mixed reaction from viewers. Despite her trademark warmth, some social media users have been critical of her hosting style.

Alison responded to the backlash with a defiant message, urging unhappy viewers to simply “switch off.” However, online negativity has continued to circulate.

Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake Sparks Major Buzz as Viewers Call Him “Perfect” Replacement for Paul O’Grady

Reality TV favourite Pete Wicks is making serious waves in the world of animal-focused telly, as For Dogs’ Sake continues to win over viewers—and stir up some serious comparisons.

According to The Sun, a showbiz insider revealed that the U&W series, which aired earlier this year, received a “great reception”—and not just because Pete was riding high after his Strictly stint.

“Many viewers compared For Dogs’ Sake to For The Love Of Dogs,” the source said, adding: “They called Pete a worthy successor to the late, great Paul O’Grady.”

The comment comes just as ITV launched the 13th series of For The Love Of Dogs, now hosted by This Morning’s Alison Hammond. The insider cheekily hinted that this development “will be interesting news for ITV.”

Fans Call for Pete to Take Over

Viewers have been vocal about their opinions online, with some social media users calling for Pete to take the reins from Alison.

“You need a different host ASAP,” one X user wrote. “Take a look at Pete Wicks on For Dogs’ Sake. He would’ve been perfect to take over from our darling Paul #FLOD.”

Another chimed in: “Surely someone like Pete Wicks would be a better host of For The Love Of Dogs.”

A third viewer went further, saying: “The presenter should be Pete Wicks or the Crufts presenter Radzi Chinyanganya. Both are dynamic, talented presenters who love dogs. I’ve taken Alison’s advice from last season—‘If you don’t want to watch, don’t watch.’ Thanks Alison, I won’t watch!”
