Jane Moore Breaks Silence on Rare Divorce Details and Shares Her Unbreakable Approach to Heartbreak

Loose Women star Jane Moore has opened up about her high-profile split from husband of 20 years, Gary Farrow, in a rare and candid moment during a new episode of Loose Women: The Podcast.

The 62-year-old journalist and presenter, who married showbiz agent Gary in 2002, helped raise their blended family — including her daughters Ellie and Grace from a previous relationship, and Gary’s daughter Lauren.

In a chat with I’m A Celebrity star GK Barry, Jane revealed she’s “never been dumped” and shared her unique way of navigating heartbreak — claiming she can move on in just two days.

“I think a lot internally before I say things out loud,” she explained. “I’ve never been dumped — and that’s because I can always see the writing on the wall. I sense when things are about to end, so I get in first.”

Reflecting on her resilience, she added: “Sure, I’ve had a couple of nights where I’ve been really upset… but then I just switch gears and tell myself, ‘Okay, that wasn’t meant to be.’ I can put it on the back burner and move forward.”

Jane Moore Breaks Silence on Divorce and Heartbreak: “I’ve Never Been Dumped”

Loose Women star Jane Moore, 62, has spoken candidly for the first time in a while about her high-profile divorce from husband Gary Farrow, sharing rare insights into their split and her personal take on heartbreak.

Jane and Gary, a well-known showbiz agent whose past clients include Elton John, tied the knot in 2002. Over their 20-year marriage, they raised a blended family together — Jane’s daughters Ellie and Grace from a previous relationship, and Gary’s daughter Lauren. (Pictured together in 2010)

Appearing on Loose Women: The Podcast with I’m A Celebrity star GK Barry, Jane opened up about how she handles romantic breakups, revealing a surprising confession: “I’ve never been dumped.”

She explained, “I think a lot internally before I ever say anything out loud. I can usually see the writing on the wall — I sense when someone’s drifting away, so I get in first. Sure, I’ll be upset, ‘boo hoo hoo,’ but give me two days and I’m fine. I just move on.”

The conversation took a reflective turn when they discussed the idea of “knowing when you’ve found the one.” Jane recalled a memorable interview she once had with music legend George Michael. “He said to me, ‘Emotionally, I could be with a woman for the rest of my life. I’m much more attuned to women emotionally, but I’m sexually attracted to men,’” she shared. “And I’d say the same. I could live with a woman emotionally for the rest of my life.”

She continued, “I have so many great female friends I could live with, like spinster sisters — Hinge and Bracket style — but I’m just not physically attracted to women.”

Jane first publicly announced her separation from Gary during a live Loose Women broadcast in December 2022, revealing that while they were parting ways romantically, they had remained incredibly close. At the time, she had been helping care for Gary after he broke his leg — something that softened the transition.

“Gary and I are separating, but it’s odd having it out in the open because we’ve been processing it for about a year,” she said. “We’re both very private people, and had already discussed it when he had his accident. After he broke his leg, all bets were off — I stepped in to care for him.”

The former couple even spent Christmas together under the same roof, choosing to remain a strong unit for their family. “It’s been a gentle transition,” Jane said. “We’ve managed to move into a really good friendship, and that’s something I’m truly grateful for.”

“She explained, ‘I’ve never been dumped—and there’s a reason for that. I always see the writing on the wall. I know when it’s coming, so I make the first move’.” (Pictured in 2009)

She continued: “This is in romantic relationships — I’d just think, ‘Okay, I really liked them,’ but I’d already sensed they were drifting. So I got in early. I’d be upset for a night or two, have a little ‘boo hoo hoo’ moment… and then I’m fine.”

Jane’s no-nonsense resilience may come from her early life experiences. Raised on a council estate by a single mother, she’s spoken openly on Loose Women about her humble beginnings and the challenges she faced.

From the age of 11, Jane dreamed of becoming a journalist — a goal she pursued despite her school headmaster’s attempt to dissuade her, claiming journalism was “a male-dominated” profession.

Proving him wrong, Jane carved out a groundbreaking career spanning nearly four decades at The Sun, becoming the first female editor of the paper’s iconic Bizarre column. She held the role until 1994, when none other than Piers Morgan took over.

Over the years, Jane has covered some of Britain’s most high-profile stories, including the harrowing case of James Bulger’s murder — solidifying her place as one of the UK’s most respected voices in journalism.
