A Moment of Joy Turns Tragic: Woman Dies in Crash Just Seconds After Posting on Facebook
Courtney Ann Sanford, 34, known as a careful and experienced driver, tragically lost her life in a devastating head-on collision.
While driving, she was listening to Pharrell Williams’ upbeat hit “Happy” and decided to capture the moment by posting a cheerful selfie to Facebook with the caption: “This song makes me happy!”
Less than a minute later, tragedy struck. Traveling at around 60 kilometers per hour, Courtney’s car veered into oncoming traffic and collided with a truck, sending her vehicle into a ditch and then crashing into a tree. The impact caused the car to catch fire, and heartbreakingly, Courtney was unable to escape the wreckage.
What stunned her family and investigators alike was the chilling timing of her final Facebook post. Authorities confirmed the post was made at 8:33 AM — just one minute before the first emergency call was received at 8:34 AM.
