Musk Blasts Trump’s ‘Pork-Filled’ Spending Bill in Explosive Rant

Just days after stepping down from his role at the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), Elon Musk unleashed a fiery tirade against Donald Trump’s latest budget package — dubbed the “Big Beautiful Bill” — labeling it a “disgusting abomination” that’s sent shockwaves through Capitol Hill.

Once seen as Trump’s secret weapon for bureaucratic reform, the Tesla and SpaceX titan is now openly distancing himself from the administration’s controversial new spending spree. The White House calls it “a bold step toward revitalizing the U.S. economy,” but Musk isn’t buying it.

Passed by the slimmest of margins — a single House vote on May 22 — this bill was sold as a win for the working class, offering temporary tax breaks through 2028, including no taxes on tips for service workers and a pause on overtime taxes. But it also funnels billions into military expansion and beefed-up border security.

For Musk, this bill couldn’t be further from “efficiency.”

‘Big or Beautiful — Not Both’

Speaking on CBS Sunday Morning in late May, Musk didn’t mince words: he was “disappointed” by the bloated spending package, which he says only adds to the budget deficit and undermines the very goals of DOGE.

“I think a bill can be big or it can be beautiful. But I don’t know if it can be both,” he remarked — a direct rebuke to Trump, who’s hailed the legislation as a historic victory.

Cuts, Controversies, and Consequences

The bill’s most divisive moves? Slashing Medicaid and SNAP benefits to offset lost tax revenue, cutting healthcare access for undocumented immigrants, and restricting gender transition support. The Congressional Budget Office warns up to 8.6 million people could lose healthcare coverage.

Trump, meanwhile, boasted on social media about the “largest mandatory Spending Cut, EVER,” promising Americans will keep more money with the “largest Tax Cut, EVER,” while targeting “millions of Illegals” by trimming Medicaid and focusing SNAP benefits “on Americans ONLY!”

A Personal Jab at Tesla?

But there’s more beneath the surface. Insiders suggest Musk’s fury is partly personal — the bill strips away electric vehicle tax credits, a harsh blow to Tesla’s bottom line.

Trump doubled down on this in a June 2 post, vowing to “REPEAL [Joe] Biden’s EV Mandate” and crush what he called the “GREEN NEW SCAM Tax Credits.”

Space Rivalries and Fallout

Musk’s troubles don’t end there. The FAA reportedly sidelined his Starlink satellites in future air traffic plans. And Trump abruptly withdrew Musk ally Jared Isaacman from NASA’s leadership shortlist, citing past Democratic donations — promising a new nominee who will “put America First in Space.”

Musk’s Explosive Backlash

In the days following, Musk’s condemnation escalated into a full-blown online onslaught:

“This massive, outrageous, pork-filled Congressional spending bill is a disgusting abomination,” he declared on X (formerly Twitter). “Shame on those who voted for it — you know you did wrong.”

He slammed the bill’s ballooning deficit, warning it would push the national debt to a staggering $2.5 trillion and “make America bankrupt.”

White House Shrugs Off Musk’s Fury

White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt appeared unfazed, telling reporters, “The president already knows where Elon Musk stood on this bill. It doesn’t change his opinion.”

A cool, almost dismissive response — but Musk’s words are now going viral, sparking heated debate online.

From Ally to Adversary

Musk’s scathing takedown marks a dramatic pivot from loyal government reformer to outspoken critic. With his X platform as a powerful megaphone, his fiery exit might just signal a bold new chapter in his role within American politics.

This isn’t just about a bill. It’s about a billionaire who once played the political game — and now wants to rewrite the rules.
