7-Vehicle Collision Leaves Multiple Injured — Two in Critical Condition
PORTLAND, Ore. (KPTV) – A major crash involving seven vehicles brought chaos to I-5 northbound near the Nyberg Street off-ramp Tuesday afternoon.
At approximately 4 p.m., emergency crews from Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue (TVFR) rushed to the scene after reports of a car flipped upside down with the driver trapped inside. Upon arrival, Tualatin police confirmed the severity: multiple vehicles were involved, and a second individual was trapped in a separate car lying on its side.
Rescue teams worked swiftly, using advanced stabilization equipment to safely extricate both trapped victims. Both were rushed to the hospital in critical condition.
Meanwhile, occupants of four other vehicles sustained minor injuries but did not require hospitalization.
The Oregon State Police have launched an investigation into the cause of this terrifying chain-reaction crash.
