Comprehensive Full-Time Security Protection

In an unprecedented move, the FBI has assigned a dedicated 24/7 rotating security detail of up to 20 agents to Deputy Director Dan Bongino — marking the first time such extensive protection has been granted at this level.

A former Secret Service agent himself, Bongino has chosen not to carry a personal weapon, instead placing full trust in the official security detail.

This continuous protection contrasts sharply with his predecessor’s limited, part-time security coverage, extending even to FBI headquarters.

The enhanced security aligns with sweeping internal reforms led by Bongino and FBI Director Kash Patel, signaling a new era within the agency.

While no specific threat has been publicly disclosed, some former officials have raised questions about the necessity and expense of this heightened security.

Bongino, however, remains focused on substantive change behind the scenes, urging the public to measure the FBI by its tangible results rather than surface appearances.
