New Updates in Annunciation Catholic Church Case

Minneapolis continues to grieve after the tragedy at Annunciation Catholic Church, where two children were

killed and several others injured. Investigators are piecing together the suspect’s life, gathering evidence,

and expanding inquiries to multiple states. Family members of the suspect have expressed sorrow but declined direct cooperation with authorities.

The victims, Fletcher Merkel, 8, and Harper Moyski, 10, are remembered for their bright spirits and the love they

shared with their families. Fletcher’s father described him as energetic, with passions for sports, fishing, and cooking. Harper’s parents recalled

her kindness, laughter, and special bond with her younger sister. Both families say their children’s memories will live on in the hearts of many.

Eighteen others, most of them children, were injured but are expected to recover thanks to quick action by staff and students, whose bravery

likely prevented further tragedy. Vigils and memorials have since united thousands, offering support to grieving families.

Amid their grief, Fletcher and Harper’s families are urging leaders to prioritize safety and mental health to prevent future tragedies.

They want their children remembered not for the violence that ended their lives, but for the joy, hope, and love they brought to all who knew them.
