In a world where drama rivals the plot twists of a soap opera, Saturday Night Live always seems to have an endless well of material to draw from.
On April 5, the show didn’t hold back, delivering a sharp jab aimed straight at Elon Musk.

Wearing a cheesehead hat, Mike Myers made a memorable appearance on Saturday Night Live, delivering yet another hilarious jab at Elon Musk. The sketch featured a quirky new Tesla model with a bizarre twist – a car that intentionally vandalizes itself.
Myers’ surprise cameo came near the end of the “Trump Tariff Cold Open,” where President Donald Trump (played by James Austin Johnson) tried to calm the nation after the stock market took a nosedive following his latest tariff announcement.
As President Trump declared, “South Africa imposes a 60% tariff on everything we send them, and they’ve never even sent us one good thing,” Mike Myers’ portrayal of Elon Musk made a surprise entrance, complete with a cheesehead hat. The reference was a nod to the real-life moment when Musk sported the hat while trying to support a Trump-endorsed candidate in a Wisconsin Supreme Court race.
“That was from when I tried to buy the election in Wisconsin,” Myers’ Musk quipped. “I’m an idiot. I should’ve just bought Wisconsin!”
Then, in response to protests at Tesla dealerships and reports of people intentionally damaging Tesla cars, Myers’ version of Musk unveiled the “new Tesla Model-V.” The self-vandalizing electric vehicle, he proudly announced, featured self-smashing headlights, self-slashing tires, and AI-driven graffiti.

It was a classic SNL roast, full of exaggerated humor, but Elon Musk wasn’t laughing.
Musk, who had hosted SNL back in 2021 but quickly became disillusioned with the show, wasn’t pleased with how Mike Myers portrayed him. Taking to X (formerly Twitter), Musk fired back, saying, “SNL hasn’t been funny in a long time. They are their own parody.”
As expected, Elon didn’t hold back his thoughts for his millions of followers.
Not everyone found the sketch amusing, though. One viewer criticized it as “really poor” and took a jab at the show’s political leanings, claiming, “Making fun of high-functioning Asperger’s is typical of the mentally ill left,” referencing Musk’s open discussion of his diagnosis during his 2021 SNL appearance.
Autism Capital, a citizen journalism account that frequently engages with Musk on X, also expressed strong disapproval of the skit. “This is such exceedingly bad taste. Wow. Not funny at all, just mean. Born from hate, not humor,” the account remarked.
While Musk’s supporters rallied behind him, calling the skit “mean” and “driven by hatred,” others found the situation hilarious. Some Twitter users poked fun at Musk’s reaction, posting playful comments like “Boo hoo crybaby” along with a crying cat meme, which likely didn’t improve his mood.
One user even pointed out, “Didn’t you host a few years ago? You just don’t like that they made fun of you.”

It looks like this won’t be the last time Mike Myers takes aim at Elon Musk, especially considering Musk’s ties to the Trump administration.
Given Musk’s reaction, we can probably expect more fiery Twitter outbursts whenever the next sketch rolls around. It seems like no new SNL episode is truly complete without a little Musk-related drama to stir things up!
