“My Son Says I’m Too Old for Red Lipstick – But I’m Not Sure I Agree”
At 75, I’ve always adored wearing red lipstick. It’s my little confidence boost, a touch of style that makes me feel fabulous. Yesterday, as I was getting ready for a family dinner, I was applying my favorite red shade when my son walked in. He gave me a look and said, “Mom, you look like a desperate old clown trying to hold onto your youth. It’s embarrassing.”
His words hit me like a ton of bricks. I was shocked and, honestly, hurt. Red lipstick has been my way of expressing myself, my personal flair.
But now, I can’t shake his comment. Do I really look ridiculous? Maybe it’s time to reconsider my favorite bold lip. Should I stop wearing it?
