“Urgent Search for Arielle Valdes: 21-Year-Old Woman Missing from Fort Myers”

Heartbreak in Fort Myers: 21-Year-Old Arielle Valdes Found After Days-Long Search

What began as an evening run ended in tragedy for 21-year-old Arielle Valdes of North Fort Myers. After vanishing on August 28, 2024, during a routine jog, Arielle’s disappearance sparked a massive, county-wide search involving marine units, drones, K9 teams, and volunteers.

On September 2, remains believed to be hers were discovered near the Caloosahatchee River. Despite the extensive search efforts, the Lee County Sheriff’s Office confirmed that there is no indication of foul play, as determined by the Major Crimes Unit.

Surveillance footage had captured Arielle heading southbound on US 41 shortly after leaving her home around 6:30 p.m., offering the last known glimpse of her before she disappeared.

Her sister, Isabella Hergert, shared a moving tribute on social media:
“Ari, you were too good for this world. I love you, and I will see you again in every lifetime.”
A GoFundMe page originally set up as a reward fund has now shifted focus, with the family exploring meaningful ways to honor Arielle’s memory.
