Rosie O’Donnell says Trump rigged the 2024 election

Rosie O’Donnell Flees the U.S., Slams Trump Over 2024 Election in Viral Rant

Rosie O’Donnell didn’t just unfollow Donald Trump—she crossed an ocean to get away from him.

Now living in Ireland, the outspoken comedian and former View co-host is making headlines again, this time with a scathing TikTok that’s setting social media on fire.

“It’s very obvious that it was [rigged],” Rosie said, referring to the 2024 presidential election.

The daytime TV legend packed her bags and moved abroad earlier this year, and she’s not being shy about the reason: Donald J. Trump.

O’Donnell has been openly critical of Trump for years, but this latest move is her boldest statement yet. In her own words, the political climate under Trump’s return to power was “too much” to handle—so she left.

Whether you agree with her or not, Rosie’s dramatic exit and explosive claims are sparking serious conversation around the 2024 election—and she’s not backing down anytime soon.

Rosie O’Donnell Flees to Ireland, Blasts Trump Over “Rigged” 2024 Election

Rosie O’Donnell has never been one to bite her tongue—especially when it comes to Donald Trump. Their feud has been simmering since 2006 (back when Twitter still had egg avatars), but after Trump’s victory over Kamala Harris in the 2024 presidential election, Rosie says she’d had enough.

So she did what many only joke about: she packed her bags and left the country.

“I left on January 15,” O’Donnell revealed, “just five days before his inauguration.”

Now settling into life in Ireland—her ancestral homeland—the former View co-host is reconnecting with her roots and actively applying for Irish citizenship. But don’t mistake her move for silence. If anything, she’s louder than ever.

In a fiery TikTok posted on May 12, the A League of Their Own star, now 62, accused Trump of benefiting from a “very obviously” rigged election.

“If he admits one more time that the election was rigged… I mean, why is he allowed to say that over and over again and no one does anything about it?” she asked, clearly exasperated.

Though Rosie didn’t cite a specific instance, many viewers drew a connection to Trump’s eyebrow-raising March statement:

“They rigged the election and I became president, so that was a good thing.”

Was he talking about 2024? 2020? Critics and commentators remain divided—but for Rosie, the meaning was crystal clear. And for her, that was the last straw.

Now abroad, Rosie isn’t just adjusting to a new country—she’s doubling down on her political voice. One thing’s certain: while she may have left the U.S., she hasn’t left the fight.

Rosie O’Donnell Exits the U.S. — and Unleashes on Trump Over “Rigged” 2024 Election

Rosie O’Donnell has officially traded in red, white, and blue for green—Irish green, that is. But don’t let the change of scenery fool you: the comedian and longtime Trump critic hasn’t gone silent. In fact, she’s louder—and more furious—than ever.

After Donald Trump’s narrow 2024 victory over Kamala Harris, Rosie didn’t just post a TikTok rant. She packed up and left the country.
“I left on January 15,” she said, “just five days before his inauguration.”

Now calling Ireland home and applying for citizenship in her grandparents’ homeland, Rosie is watching from afar—and sounding the alarm.

“Very Obvious That It Was Rigged”

In a fiery TikTok posted May 12, the 62-year-old A League of Their Own star let loose on what she sees as a broken system and a dangerous man.

“It’s very obvious that it was [rigged],” she said. “He keeps saying it because he has some form of dementia or something that he can’t help but tell on himself… It’s very, very overwhelming.”

She’s referring to Trump’s repeated claims that the 2024 election was fraudulent—even though he won. That bizarre refrain came to a head during a January 19 victory rally in Washington, D.C., when Trump dropped this gem:

“He knows those computers better than anybody, all those computers, those vote counting computers. And we ended up winning Pennsylvania like, in a landslide, so it was pretty good. So, thank you to Elon.”

The “Elon” in question? None other than Elon Musk, whose support for Trump and control of tech platforms like X (formerly Twitter) have fueled speculation about his influence over the race. Trump’s shoutout had conspiracy theorists buzzing—and critics raising serious eyebrows.

Despite winning the popular vote by just 1.5%, Trump has continued to call it a “landslide,” a claim Rosie and many others find deeply troubling.

“The Personal Is Political”

For Rosie, this isn’t just a political fight—it’s a personal stand.

“When it is safe for all citizens to have equal rights there in America, that’s when we will consider coming back,” she said in March. “It’s been heartbreaking to see what’s happening politically and hard for me personally as well. The personal is political, as we all know.”

As she builds a new life in Ireland, Rosie is reconnecting with her roots and continuing to speak out. She may be thousands of miles away from Washington, but make no mistake—she hasn’t checked out of the conversation.

If Donald Trump thought Rosie would back down, go quiet, or fade away, he clearly doesn’t know Rosie O’Donnell.
