A cyclist spots an abandoned dog with a plastic bag clenched in its mouth. But when he peers inside, what he finds sends a chill down his spine.

While cycling with a friend, 58-year-old Paul Skinner caught sight of something out of the corner of his eye that made him slam on his brakes in an instant.

Something was stirring in a nearby ditch. As Paul got closer, he found a weary, nearly lifeless cocker spaniel, clearly abandoned and struggling to survive.

The dog was clutching a plastic bag in its mouth, and when Paul looked inside, a chilling realization made the hairs on the back of his neck stand up.

Nancy Pelosi makes “weird” mouth movements during Trump’s speech.

“I was out cycling with my friend when we spotted something on the verge that looked like a dead bird. But as we passed, it moved,” Paul shared with the British paper Metro.

The abandoned dog was found in Lincolnshire, England.

“The dog was all alone, sitting there, licking the contents of a fish and chips carrier bag,” Paul recalled.

Without hesitation, Paul jumped off his bike and approached the dog, but he could see no owners nearby.

That’s when he noticed the bag clutched tightly in the dog’s mouth.

Paul bent down to peer into the bag.

“The bag contained four lifeless pups. It was heartbreaking. She had tears in her eyes. I just couldn’t believe anyone could be so devoid of humanity to do something like this,” he said.

Paul quickly contacted an animal rescue group and a local shelter for help.

Volunteers from the shelter arrived soon after and attempted to save the puppies, but it was too late.

A veterinarian examined the pups and determined they had likely been born that very same day. It appeared they may have been alive when placed in the bag, then discarded in the ditch along with their mother.

“We don’t know if the puppies were stillborn or if they died from the cold,” the police said. “We would like to thank the cyclist who found the dog and raised the alarm, as well as Fen Bank Greyhound Sanctuary for getting her to the vets.”

A microchip was found on the mother dog, but it could only be traced back to the original breeder.

The shelter took care of the mother, naming her Carly. Thankfully, she will never be mistreated again, becoming a symbol of why we must continue to stand up against those who harm animals.

Carly displayed a strength and love that far surpassed her irresponsible owner. Even after her puppies were gone, she refused to leave them.

Her powerful maternal instincts serve as a reminder that animals, just like humans, are capable of deep emotions.

I wholeheartedly agree! I hope Carly enjoys a long, happy life filled with love and care, and maybe even new puppies one day. She deserves all the happiness after everything she’s been through! Like if you agree! ❤️🐾

  1. I never lose my faith in believing that there are many, many good and loving people out there in the world. It is shameful and heartless to leave such a beautiful dog out in the outdoor and to leave her newborn babies inside a plastic bag. There maybe a payment waiting for you when you leave this world, to go along with whatever happens before you leave. If you have a conscience, this act will be in your mind forever, that is if you have a conscience.
